The List Pt. 2

1. Facebook: Easily one of the most used apps on my itouch.  It’s so nice to be able so see if I have any notifications or if anyone has posted new pictures without having to power up my computer. Free.
2. Cube Runner: If you’ve played this game you know how addicting it is.  It’s simple concept combined with never-ending gameplay provides for hours of entertainment.  My highest score on easy is 1706 and my highest on hard is 298.  Drop me a comment if you’ve beat either of these scores. Free.
3. PapiJump: Once again, an extremely addicting game with a simple concept.  My highest score on this game is 40,000 let me know if you beat me. Free.
4. Fieldrunners: This game is really fun.  It is a tower defense game which means you build towers that shoot at the enemy and keeps them from entering your fortress.  It does have a fairly steep price tag at $4.99 but its very fun and I’d say its worth the 5 bucks.
5. Flick Fishing: An interesting concept of fishing on your iPod.  Flick Fishing executes this concept really well and combines several strategies in order to catch the largest fish.  For example, you choose your bait as well as the place you want to fish at.  This app costed $0.99 when I bought although I believe the price may have gone up to $1.99 now.
6. iCopter: We’ve all played helicopter on the computer.  This is the same idea but on your iPod.  Costs $0.99.  Well worth it.
7. iShoot: This is a game where several tanks shoot at each other in attempt to be the last one still alive.  You choose the weapon you shoot, the trajectory you shoot it at, as well as the speed at which the weapon is fired.  If your shot gets close enough to one of the other tanks it will do some damage. This app costs $2.99.  Check out iShoot lite if you aren’t sure you want to spend the 3 bucks.
8. Remote:  This one is pretty much self-explanatory.  Basically it turns your iPod into a remote from which you can control the music playing on your iTunes on your computer.  Free.
9. Sportacular: This app constantly updates me about everything thats going on in the sporting world.  From the NFL to the uh… LPGA. Everything’s here. Free.
10. Dactyl: And at number 10: Dactyl!  This is a game that requires you to use your dexterity to disarm bombs before they blow up.  The version I have is free but I think there is a more advanced version for $2.99.

The List

1. PocketGuitar: PocketGuitar costs 99 cents to purchase which is a much better price than that of a real guitar. It is fun to mess around with although it would be pretty difficult to play any real music on it. The six different playable instruments that come with this app are Acoustic-Electric Guitar, Electric Guitar, Classical Guitar, Muted Guitar, Electric Bass, and Ukele.
2. Cube Runner: Cube Runner is a free app that consists of an arrow attempting to navigate through cubes without colliding with any of them. It makes good use of the accelerometer and is very entertaining when you have nothing better to do with your time.
3. Sportacular: Sportacular is a free app that gives updated scores and stats for each of the main professional and college sports. Sportacular is also customizable in that you can add a list of your favorite teams for the application to track automatically.
4. LineRider: Many of you have probably played, or at least heard of LineRider. Well now you can take countless hours of entertainment on the go. LineRider consists of drawing lines for a sled to ride on, but be careful, you don’t want to get your sled going too fast or else the little man riding the sled will suffer a brutal death. LineRider costs $2.99.
5. Anaconda: Anaconda, a free app, is essentially “Snake,” the game that came with all of those old fashioned brick cell phones. The only difference between Anaconda and Snake is that you press the screen in order to change the direction of the snake instead of pressing the arrows on a phone.
6. Brain Tuner: Brain Tuner is a great free application to get your brain functioning in the morning. This program displays a math problem such as 4 x 7 = 28. You have to choose whether this is wrong or right. The goal is to get all of the problems correct in the fastest time possible. My best time for 20 problems is 12.87 seconds. Think you can beat that?
7. Stanza: Stanza is a great free program for people that love reading those classics such as The Great Gatsby and The Time Machine. You can download thousands of free ebooks from their online database straight to your ipod and start reading away.
8. iBowl: iBowl, a free app, also makes great use of the ipod’s accelerometer capabilities. You line up the ball, swing your arm back, and then forward, and the bowling ball will travel correspondingly. This app is moderately entertaining until you throw your $500 iPhone or iTouch and it crashes into the wall. Hope this doesn’t happen to anyone.
9. Airsharing: Airsharing was free when I downloaded it but I believe it costs $6.99 now. Airsharing allows you to access files on your computer over your wifi connection. It has proved extremely useful for me.
10. Remote: Remote is a free app that allows you to control the song or movie your computer is playing through your ipod. This is for the people who are too lazy to get up and go to their computer to change the song. This group of people may or may not include myself.
